Elizabeth Snyder (born Betsy Snyder) was an American television soap opera writer. She turned down the co-lead writer position at One Life to Live in November 2012. Betsy lived most of her adult life in Pasadena, CA, where she had an Emmy-winning writing career. She is survived by her husband, Clay Marquardt, son Charlie and daughter Anne. She is also survived by her father, George L. Snyder, siblings Philip Snyder (Julie), Amy Snyder Doldo (John), George Snyder Jr. (Lidia) and Jane Snyder and step-siblings Catherine Luhr, Mary E. Luhr Johnson, Adair Luhr Kearney (Kevin), Julie Luhr, Ann Marie Luhr, John Paul Luhr Jr., Florine Luhr, and Eileen Luhr. She is predeceased by her mother, Anne Bradt Snyder, and stepmother, Leah Luhr Snyder. She will be greatly missed by the Nowaks, Hamlins, and Muglers of Buffalo, and Snyders of Ohio. A Buffalo-based celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Despite the show’s recent episode being filled with drama and action, many fans were struck by how it was dedicated to Elizabeth. Elizabeth Snyder was a staff writer on Days Of Our Lives. The soap opera writer has also won an Emmy award for her work. Elizabeth had been with the NBC soap opera’s scribe team for 10 years, from 2011 to 2021. She served as the associate head writer, breakdown writer and scriptwriter during her time with Days.
