Allman was born at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Allman graduated from Silver Creek High School, in Longmont, Colorado, in 2013. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Product Design in 2017. She is currently taking a leave of absence from her Master’s program in Communications at Stanford University to train full-time. She is an accomplished dancer. She was ranked No. 4 among all high school throwers in 2012. She trains under Coach Zebulon Sion. She is involved in Soles 4 Souls, which distributes used shoes to those in underdeveloped countries. Allman was a seven time All-American at Stanford University. She went on to represent her country at the 2017 Summer Universiade, where she won a silver medal, and the 2017 World Championships, where she did not qualify for the final. She was the 2018 National Champion. Also, she earned bronze at the 2018 Athletics World Cup and silver at the 2018 NACAC Championships. Allman’s personal best in the event is 70.15 m (230 ft 1+3⁄4 in) set at the Ironwood Throws Center Invitational in Rathdrum, Idaho, in 2020. She now resides in Austin, Texas, and trains under Coach Zebulon Sion at the University of Texas, where she is a volunteer assistant. She is sponsored by Oiselle, as well as the New York Athletic Club. Allman became the first athlete to score a podium finish for team USA in track and field events at this year’s Olympics. And that isn’t the only reason her gold is historic: Allman is now one of three American women discus-throwers to win a gold medal in the history of the Olympics. Her win is the first gold in women’s discus since Stephanie Brown-Trafton in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Allman majored in product design at Stanford. She was a six-time All American, a two-time Pac-12 champion and Pac-12 Woman of the Year in 2018 as a member of the University’s track and field team. She is also a three-time U.S Champion and represented the U.S. at the 2019 Doha World Championships, where she placed seventh.
